DEWITT COUNTY, IL : 1 dead in DeWitt Co. crash involving semi-trucks at Illinois Route 10 and Friends Creek Road on Friday, 9th October, 2020

A De Land man lost his life in a crash between semi-trucks Friday, trooper said.

Illinois State Police said the crash occurred at about 2:20 p.m. at Illinois Route 10 and Friends Creek Road. They said a 2006 Peterbilt semi-truck was southbound on Friends Creek when the driver failed to stop at a stop intersection with Illinois Route 10, then struck the front of a westbound 2019 International semi-truck.

The Peterbilt driver, a 34-year-old man, was fatally injured. Washington man James H. Isbell, who was behind the wheel of the International semi-truck, went to a hospital with minor injuries.
