Monett, MO : Two people were injured Sunday in a wreck on Interstate 44 on Sunday, December, 24th 2017

Two people were injured Sunday in a wreck at 5:45 p.m. on Interstate 44, four miles west of Mt. Vernon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Kenneth Fisher, 55, of Noel, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound when an unknown eastbound tractor trailer, driver unknown, was passing and traveled into the right lane, causing Fisher's vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway and overturn several times.

Fisher and a passenger in his vehicle, Josphine Fisher, 42, of Noel, each suffered moderate injuries. both were transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin.

Both were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.

The driver of the other vehicle left the scene.
