Duxbury, VT : Hundreds celebrate lives of teens killed in wrong-way crash on Monday October 24th 2016
Hundreds have gathered at a Vermont high school to celebrate the lives of five students who were hit and killed in a crash by a wrong-way driver.
The Burlington Free Press the event was held Monday night in the gymnasium at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury.
Posters placed at the front of the gymnasium showed the smiling faces of 16-year-olds Mary Harris and Cyrus Zschau, both of Moretown; 16-year-old Liam Hale and 15-year-old Janie Cozzi, both of Fayston; and 16-year-old Eli Brookens, of Waterbury.
Four of the students were Harwood Union High School juniors. The fifth attended Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire.
The celebration featured speeches by friends and teachers. Two Williston police officers who first responded to the Oct. 8 crash were in attendance.
