A Monday morning vehicle crash led to the arrest of a woman under the influence of marijuana, according to a release from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department.
Units from Morgan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle crash into a utility pole at 6:34 a.m. on W.Va. 9 near Cherry Run Road.
Deputy Dennis Jenkins responded and found a vehicle had struck and broken the pole in three places. Traffic was blocked in the area and residents lost power for some time, according to the release.
Jenkins found the driver to be under the influence of suspected marijuana.
Brandy Aileen Collier, 42, was charged with DUI second offense, possession of controlled substance, failure to maintain control of vehicle and driving left of center.
Collier was transported to War Memorial Hospital, treated and released.
