Rutland, VT : Two DUI charges in two collisions on April, Tuesday 25th 2017
Rutland City Police said a drunken driver hit a pedestrian and a curb in separate incidents.
Police did not indicate that the pedestrian was hurt, but said the car sustained extensuve damage in the collision with the curb.
Makailah Haskell, 28, has been cited on two charges of DUI, according to police.
Police said the first incident was March 25, when police responded at around 1:40 a.m. to reports of a crash on Crescent Street.
Haskell had hit the curb, police said, and did enough damage to her vehicle that it had to be towed from the scene. Police said they determined Haskell was under the influence, but she declined to provide a breath sample. She was cited to appear in court April 10.
On April 18, police said they got a call at about 1:20 a.m. from Shelley Crandall, 41, who said Haskell hit her with a car while Crandall was walking on State Street.
Crandall told police Haskell stopped and gave her a ride, asking her not to report the incident. Crandall said Haskell was been drinking and she took down Haskell’s license plate number, police said.
