Pittsburgh, PA : 2 killed in head-on crash in Fayette County on Saturday

Two people were killed and two more were seriously injured in a head-on crash Saturday night in Fayette County.

State police at Uniontown are blaming the accident on speed.

At about 10:30 p.m., police said, Derek P. Kemp, 19, of West Leisenring, Fayette County, lost control of his vehicle on Connellsville Street in North Union. Police said he was southbound at a high rate of speed when he "over-compensated a curve", crossed the center line in the 400 block of the street, and struck head-on a vehicle driven by Caitlin J. Vlosich, 24, of Brownsville, Fayette County.

Police said Mr. Kemp and a passenger, Robert A. Walker, 20, of Uniontown, were fatally injured and had to be extricated from the vehicle
