BEAUFORT CO, SC : Driver seriously injured in early-morning car crash in Beaufort on Tuesday, 14th August 2018

A driver had to be rescued following a two-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning in Beaufort.

It happened just before 5:30 a.m. at the intersection of Laurel Bay Road and Trask Parkway. Officials say one driver was trapped and rescued by fire crews. That driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The intersection of Laurel Bay Road and Trask Parkway was delayed for over an hour while emergency crews rescued the driver and removed hazards from the roadway. The wreck has since cleared and traffic is back to normal in the area.
