BATON ROUGE, LA : Woman arrested for purposely crashing head-on into husband’s vehicle on Sunday, 28th January 2024
A woman was arrested after deputies say she purposely crashed into her husband’s vehicle while he and another person were inside.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office said Maria Loera, 42, was taken into custody early Sunday morning, Jan. 28. Deputies responded to the domestic disturbance around 6:18 a.m. Sunday at an apartment complex off Old Hammond Highway, near Millerville Road.
According to arrest records, Loera’s husband and his friend were sitting in his vehicle when Loera took his phone from him and left. After she returned, her husband and the friend were trying to drive away when they say she got in her own vehicle and slammed into theirs head-on at a high speed. No one was hurt.
Deputies say Loera later admitted she had been drinking alcohol before the incident.
