Phoenix, AZ : Men killed in wrong-way crash on a freeway ramp on Tuesday, December 13, 2016
Authorities say two Phoenix men were the people killed Tuesday when their wrong-way SUV collided head-on with a pickup on a freeway ramp.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says 63-year-old Jeremiah Trotter was the wrong-way driver and 28-year-old Bennett Frank Vella was a passenger in the SUV.
The two people in the pickup were critically injured. Their identities weren’t released, and DPS spokesman Raul Garcia says there’s no update on their conditions or on circumstances of the crash.
It occurred on a ramp connecting Interstate 10 with State Route 202 and Pecos Road. The interchange is on the border between Phoenix and Chandler.
