Investigators say three people have been killed and eight hurt in a van wreck in South Texas.
Wharton police say the accident happened Friday morning when the driver of the 11-person van apparently lost control, the vehicle hit the median and ended up near an overpass.
Detective Jared Cullar says police are trying to determine if rainy weather contributed to the accident on northbound U.S. 59.
The Victoria Advocate reports three people were dead at the accident site. Six people were transported to hospitals. Two people were treated and released at the scene.
Their names and further details on conditions of the survivors weren't immediately available. Police did not immediately return a message Saturday.
