Ann Arbor, MI : University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh stopped and assisted two patients after a rollover crash on I-94 Tuesday afternoon, March 3, 2015
University of Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh helped the victims of a car crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 94 in Ann Arbor, according to Michigan State Police.
State police say a Jeep Cherokee lost control on westbound I-94 near Saline Road, crossed the center median wall, overturned and ended up in the eastbound I-94 traffic lanes. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Harbaugh and James Minick, who is a member of the university's athletic staff, were traveling eastbound on I-94 when they saw the crashed SUV. They helped the passenger -- a 73-year-old woman -- out of the Jeep. Harbaugh and Minick also assisted the partially-ejected driver with first-aid. Moreover, they used coats to keep the injured passenger warm until EMS arrived.
The driver and passenger were transported to St. Joseph Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
State police say the 53-year-old driver was at fault for the crash. They were traveling too fast in slippery road conditions.
