Three people were hurt in a head-on collision on Peasleeville Road in Peru Friday afternoon.

At about 7:20 p.m., a similar wreck in Altona injured four, according to scanner reports.

Details, including names, were not available for either crash by press time.

But scanner and radio reports on the Peru wreck indicated a Chevy Silverado pickup truck and Ford Explorer collided just west of Strackville Road at about 3:50 p.m.

Peru Volunteer Fire Department responded, with mutual aid from South Plattsburgh Fire and three ambulances, from Peru, Morrisonville EMS and CVPH EMS, according to Clinton County Dispatch.

Efforts to extricate one person was completed at 4:08 p.m., a report said.

A 40-year-old man who'd been driving the pickup appeared to have back and left hip pain, among other injuries, a radio broadcast indicated, while his passenger had injured his left wrist.

Behind the wheel of the Explorer was a 44-year-old woman who had chest pain, and other injuries that included her left shoulder, right elbow and right foot, according to a radio report.

An ambulance worker called for a trauma alert as they neared University of Vermont Health Network, Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.
