Ankeny, IL:Suspect vehicle sought in fiery hit-and-run crash on Sunday, June 28th 2015

Police are still searching for a vehicle involved in a fiery hit-and-run crash Sunday morning.The crash happened on Interstate 80 westbound near the northeast mixmaster just after 6 a.m.Police said they believe a white sedan crashed into a semi, which sparked a large fire that spread quickly because of a paper load in the semi. Two people inside the semi were taken to an area hospital with injuries. Their conditions are unknown.The right lane of I-80 was closed Sunday morning, but it has since reopened. The semi is still being cleaned up.TROOPER SIDESWIPEDWhile responding to the crash, an Iowa State Patrol trooper was sideswiped by a semi.Trooper Tracy Bohlen was helping with traffic control when his patrol car was hit from behind. His car was the first of four cars lined up behind the semi on fire.Bohlen was unharmed and the driver of the semi was ticketed for not moving over for emergency responders.Stay with KCCI.com, the mobile app and website for updates to this developing story.
