LA VISTA, NE : 1 arrested after pursuit, crash in Sarpy County near 72nd and Harrison streets on Thursday, 3rd January 2019

One person is in custody after a pursuit in Sarpy County, Nebraska State Patrol confirms.

The incident was reported around 6 p.m.NSP told KETV NewsWatch 7 that Robert Ragland, 21, fled from troopers near 72nd and Harrison streets.Ragland then struck two cars before being stopped near 72nd and Giles streets, troopers said.

"There was a line of cop cars and another car that looked like the front end of it was torn off. And the cops were pointing guns and yelling.” Mike Wooldridge said. “They were screaming at him that if he didn't stop moving they were going to fire on him."

Wooldridge commended the officers for keeping their cool in a tense situation with many people around.

“Hats off to the police department for handling it the way they did not having to fire anything off and hopefully the people in the other cars are safe," he said.
