SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL : 2 injured after boat collision in Seminole County on Sunday, 24th March 2024

Two boats carrying eight people were involved in a crash Sunday on the St. Johns River in Seminole County, officials said.

According to fire officials, crews responded around 6:35 p.m. to Cameron Wight Park, about 5 miles east of U.S. 17-92 on State Road 46 near the Lake Jesup Bridge after the crash.

One person was sent to the hospital as a trauma alert and another was injured when the boats collided, according to the Seminole County Fire Department. Officials said the victims were a man and a woman, but no other information was released on their condition.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will investigate the crash.
