According to police, Willard lost control of his Yamaha motorcycle and made contact with another vehicle, possibly a Chevrolet Impala, then flipped and slid before being run over by the semi.
No one has been cited at this time, according to police. The driver of the first vehicle Willard made contact with did not remain on the scene. The driver of the semi was a 60-year-old Cleveland man, police said.
After the crash happened in the 8 o'clock hour, some drivers reported being stuck in traffic for more than two hours.

Police were detouring drivers off I-77 north at East 30th Street as they worked to clear the wreckage.
This closure caused a trickle-down effect of slow conditions for drivers on I-480 in each direction approaching I-77.
