A crash in Alabama’s Blount County has left three people dead, including two children.
Al.com reports (http://bit.ly/2qY7yIN ) the crash happened about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on Alabama 79, just south of Cleveland.
Alabama State Troopers late Wednesday identified one of the victims as 47-year-old Deana Whitfield, of Locust Fork. A 7-year-old girl in Whitfield’s car was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, a 5-year-old girl, was pronounced dead at St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital. Their names were not released.
Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel says Whitfield was involved in a head-on crash with a car driven by a 16-year-old Blountsville driver. The teenager, whose name was not released, was transported to UAB Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
