Murray,KY : Radio Road wreck on September, Monday 11th 2017

Two people were sent to hospitals following a two-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon along Radio Road (KY 1824) in northern Calloway just south of Dexter. In a release, Calloway County Sheriff’s Office Public Affairs Officer Richard Palmer said deputies were dispatched at 4:15 p.m. to the intersection of Radio Road and Toskana Drive. Palmer said, upon the arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that one of the drivers was trapped and had to be removed by mechanical means. He said that Matthew S. Smith, 32, of Dexter, was traveling north on Radio when a vehicle driven by Charles A. Stone, 32, of Murray, pulled from Toskana and into the path of Smith’s vehicle. Smith’s vehicle then struck Stone’s vehicle in the driver’s side door, with Smith’s vehicle leaving the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch along the highway. Both drivers were treated at the scene before being taken to Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Stone was later airlifted to an Evansville, Indiana hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition Monday night. Smith remained at MCCH, where he was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
