Clearwater ,FL : Drunken driver injured and arrested after he crashed into home with his vehicle on Friday , February 13th 2015

Friday the 13th has not been a good day for a man suspected of drinking and driving, along with the owners of a Clearwater home that he is thought to have crashed his vehicle into.

Clearwater Police received a call at 12:45 p.m. on Friday about a vehicle crashing into a home at 1441 Pine St.

Two people were in the home at the time of the crash. When they went to see who had crashed into their home, they found that the vehicle had been abandoned.

Almost simultaneously at 12:48 p.m., Clearwater Police received a call from a city recycling truck driver saying there was a male who was passed out along the side of the road a couple of blocks away.

While investigating the second call, Clearwater Police learned that the passed out individual was the registered owner of the vehicle that crashed into the home at 1441 Pine St.

The driver is at a local hospital being treated for his injuries. Police say alcohol appears to be a factor. Police say charges are pending the results of the investigation.

The Clearwater Fire Department is working to shore up the home.
