A Georgia man was identified as the victim in a fiery crash on Interstate 85 Tuesday.
Emmanuel Owuraku Abeasi, 45, of 6443 Hickory Drive in Braselton, Ga., was killed after two tractor-trailers collided just north of Blacksburg, Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler said in a statement Thursday.
Abeasi was driving a 2007 Freightliner that crossed northbound lanes, went through a cable barrier and hit a southbound tractor-trailer head-on, Fowler said.
Autopsy results are pending.
Fowler said Abeasi was an independent truck driver who had picked up a load of foam in Newnan, Ga., and was on his way to New York when the crash occurred.
