A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday morning in Statesville, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11 a.m. on NC 115 near Ella Kay Lane. A motorcycle traveling north on NC 115 tried to pass a Chevrolet logging truck in a no-passing zone as the truck turned left into the Progressive Power Equipment & Landscape parking lot and hit a log extending off the back of the trailer.
The driver of the motorcycle, Keaton McGlamery, 19, from Statesville, was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
