ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI : 54-year-old pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Roscommon County on Sunday, 17th November 2024

Police are investigating the hit-and-run death of a 54-year-old man, who was walking along a rural roadway in Roscommon County on Sunday evening.

Michigan State Police responded to reports of a male lying on Meade Road near the U.S. 127 overpass in Roscommon County's Lake Township around 5:45 p.m. They found the victim from Harrison dead in the roadway.

Troopers determined the man was walking westbound along Meade Road a mile west of Houghton Lake's North Bay when a passing vehicle hit him and left the scene before authorities arrived.

While police were on the scene collecting evidence, a pickup truck pulled up to the scene. Investigators determined that the truck likely was involved in the Harrison man's hit-and-run death based on evidence on the truck and at the scene.
