The Highway Patrol has identified a New Salem man who died in a crash involving two pickup trucks in Morton County.

Authorities say 83-year-old Robert Slavick was driving a pickup truck that was struck by another pickup on Old Highway 10 west of Mandan on Tuesday afternoon.

Slavick's pickup was pushed into a ravine, and he died at the scene.

The 35-year-old Mandan man driving the other pickup suffered unspecified injuries. The patrol says charges are pending against him.
