MARION, MA : 55-year-old man has died following a single-car crash near Cape Cod on Saturday, January, 6th 2018

State police in Massachusetts say a 55-year-old man has died following a single-car crash near Cape Cod.

The department says the crash happened at about 7 a.m. Saturday on Route 195 Eastbound in Marion.

Police say their preliminary investigation suggests Robert Xifaras, a Mattapoisett resident, had been heading eastbound in a 2014 Hyundai Velost when he lost control of the vehicle, veered into the median and rolled over. He died at the scene.

Police are investigating what caused the crash, which closed the left travel lane for about 3 hours.
