East Akron, OH : 2 dead in separate East Akron crashes over weekend on Sunday, 13th September, 2020
Two men died in East Akron this weekend in separate traffic accidents.
A 60-year-old man was struck Saturday evening while standing beside his pickup truck, which had broken down on the ramp from East Wilbeth Road to Interstate 77 North.
About 7:30 p.m. Friday, another driver in a fast-moving Ford Mustang slammed into the side of a commercial building where Lover’s Lane dead ends at South Arlington Street. The man, who was 41, was ejected from the Mustang, which left a hole in the side of the building, police said.
The deceased men weren’t identified as of Sunday. Staff with the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office were working to identify the victim of the hit-skip accident and notify next of kin for the younger driver who crashed his car.
