Naples, FL : 73-year-old Connecticut woman struck and killed by a car in Lely Tuesday morning, March 28, 2017

A 73-year-old Connecticut woman was killed when she was struck by a car in Lely Tuesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Geraldine Jennings was walking along St. Andrews Boulevard in Lely when a car driven by Cris-Carol Samuels, 31, of Lehigh Acres, veered off the road and struck her.

Samuels and her 88-year-old passenger were not injured.

The crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Deerwood Circle.

FHP said charges are pending the investigation.
