Dalton,OH : Dalton man killed in Wayne County tractor crash on May, Friday 18th 2018

A 46-year-old village man was killed Friday after he was ejected from his farm tractor.

Daniel L. Swartzentruber was traveling south on Mount Eaton Road, south of the village, on a 2017 Massey Ferguson 1736 tractor pulling a loaded trailer.

According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the trailer began to sway causing the tractor to overturn, ejecting Swartzentrbuer. He died at the scene.

The tractor was equipped with a roll bar and seatbelt but Swartzentruber was not wearing the belt at the time of the crash.

Emergency crews from East Wayne Fire and EMS responded to the scene just after 2:30 p.m. The Wayne County Sheriff Office and officers from the Wooster Post of the state Highway Patrol assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
