WHEATFIELD, NY : Niagara County teen hospitalized after crash in Wheatfield on Sunday, February 12th 2017

A teenaged driver was hospitalized following a Sunday crash on a slippery section of Niagara Road in Wheatfield, according to Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour.

Angela M. Calato, 18, had to be extricated from her vehicle by a Berkholtz Fire Company crew after she lost control of her vehicle while eastbound in the 2700 block of Niagara Road.

Calato's car slid sideways across the northbound section of that roadway, crashing into a tree on front of a house at 2765 Niagara. She was taken by ambulance to the Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, according to the sheriff.
