Duval County , FL : One person was injured in Crash while police Chasing eventually sped well over 100 mph down at Interstate-95 on Friday , December 12th 2014

The man who led officers on a high-speed chase Friday morning has been identified by police as Thomas Burr.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office spotted a car driving erratically and began pursuing the vehicle. They said the driver was all over the road and eventually sped well over 100 mph down Interstate-95.

The officers gave up the pursuit because the driver was too erratic and feared for their safety.

It appears no other people were in the car at the time of the incident.

The car started smoking again around 6:30 a.m., and JFRD arrived to assist.

JSO said neither Burr's license nor tags were valid. He faces several charges including driving under the influence and fleeing or attempting to elude an officer.

Burr taken was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries he received in the crash.
