Portland,OR : 1 person dies in fatal crash in SW Portland on December, Sunday 3rd 2017

One person died Sunday in a single car crash in Southwest Portland.

The vehicle struck a tree on Southwest Boones Ferry Road about 6 p.m. and fell down an embankment, according to Portland police.

The driver did not suffer any serious injuries but the passenger died at the scene.

No identities were released.

Southwest Boones Ferry Road is closed in both directions from Southwest Colony Drive to Terwilliger Boulevard. It is not expected to be reopened for several hours as police investigate.
