Boston Police are investigating four separate shootings overnight that left two men dead and two others hospitalized.
That a man in his mid-20s died after a shooting at 1:42 a.m. Saturday in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.
In another burst of violence, a man in his 30s was killed near a 7-Eleven convenience store in the Jamaica Plain area of the city.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said there were two other men injured in shootings in the city's Dorchester and Mattapan neighborhoods, but both were expected to survive.The Dorchester shooting occurred at about 2:53 Saturday morning and the Mattapan incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. on Friday. One person is dead and another in critical condition after a highway accident Saturday morning.
U.S. Highway 17-92 was closed for hours because of the fatal crash. Sanford police said one person died and another was seriously injured in the two-car accident near 25th Street. The crash occurred at about 4 a.m. Saturday.
A Sanford police spokeswoman issued a statement saying, "It appears right now that excessive speed and opposite lane of travel were contributing factors."
The crash is being investigated. Names of the people involved have not been released.
