St. George, UT: Drowsy driving suspected in morning rollover off I-15 on Sunday, July 26th 2015

Drowsy driving is suspected to be the cause of a rollover on Interstate 15 just south of Exit 2 Sunday morning.The Utah Highway Patrol and other agencies were alerted to a highway rollover that landed in a wash around 7:30 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they found a white passenger car that had rolled and landed on its top near the bottom of a wash.The driver, a man in his early 40s, had spent the night in Las Vegas and was traveling to Salt Lake City to see friends, UHP Trooper Mike Murphy said.“Drowsy driving is suspected,” Murphy said, adding that, at that point in the investigation, no other forms of impairment appeared to be a factor in the crash.The driver remembers making a lane change, then hearing rumble strips, then being in the wash, the trooper said.The man was wearing his seat belt and was able to walk away from the crash. He experienced minor injuries and was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George for evaluation at his request.
