A Winfield woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on Fisher Road in Snyder County on Friday morning, according to state police in Selinsgrove.
Trooper Phillip Dohner reported that Angela A. Benfer, 58, of Winfield, was pronounced dead at Geisinger Medical Center after being transported to the hospital. The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Fisher Road, 344 feet north of Rathfon Road.
Benfer was traveling south in a 2008 Dodge Caliber when the road was wet and lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a right curve. She attempted to correct, but instead left the roadway to the west and struck a tree off the ride side of the roadway, police said.

The vehicle was towed by Selinsgrove Ford Towing, police said.
In addition to state police, those assisting at the scene included Shamokin Dam Fire Department, Hummels Wharf Fire Department, DH&L and Americus ambulances and local fire police.
The crash was the 15th fatal accident this year and the second one in a week.
