Martinez, CA : Man dies after being ejected in Highway 680 crash in Martinez on Friday morning, September 26, 2014

A 19-year-old man died Friday morning in a crash on Interstate 680 in Martinez, authorities said. Carlos Javier Curiel, a Pittsburg resident, was killed after a collision with another car caused his Buick sedan to swerve off the roadway, flip several times and land in a ditch on north I-680 near Pacheco Boulevard at around 7 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his car, the CHP said. CHP Officer John Fransen said it appeared that the vehicle landed on top of the man and crushed him.
