Tampa, FL : Valrico man dies in a Single vehicle accident on U.S. 301 north of Oak Fair Boulevard on Saturday evening, December 6, 2014

A Valrico man died Saturday evening in a single-vehicle car crash on U.S. Highway 301 near Florida State Fairgrounds, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. David Everett Ferrier, 52, was driving southbound on U.S. 301 north of Oak Fair Boulevard in the outside lane around 6:10 p.m. when his car veered southwest onto the grass shoulder west of U.S. 301 for unknown reasons, authorities said. Ferrier's car then collided into a lamppost before coming to rest facing southwest against a fairgrounds fence.
