Oak Harbor, WA : Kirkland man killed in motorcycle accident on Tuesday evening, October 18, 2016

Kirkland police say a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in the 124oo block of NE 70th Street on Oct. 18 at around 10 p.m.

The adult male, whose name has not been released, was traveling westbound when he collided with the back of a vehicle, according to a department release.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man was already deceased. The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injured, but was taken to Overlake Hospital as a precaution.

The rider was a Kirkland resident, according to the release, and his name will be withheld until family is notified.

The release said NE 70th Street would be closed for several hours while the Kirkland Police Traffic Unit conducts a full investigation.
