Dane County, WI : Motorcyclist killed in crash with truck near Twin Lane Road in the Town of Sun Prairie on Sunday, July 31, 2016

A 60-year-old Illinois man was killed Sunday when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a truck on Highway T near Twin Lane Road in the Town of Sun Prairie, the Dane County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The driver of a box truck eastbound on Highway T had slowed to make a left turn when the driver of the eastbound motorcycle attempted to pass on the left, in a no-passing zone, and collided with the truck, authorities said. The crash occurred around 5:55 p.m. Sunday.

The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by a University of Wisconsin Med Flight physician.

The truck driver, a 70-year-old man from Marshall, was not injured, authorities said. He was wearing a seat belt.
