Johnson County, KS : One person killed and two injured in head-on accident on U.S. 56 in Olathe, Friday April 8, 2016

One person was killed and two people were injured in a head-on collision Friday on West 151st Street and U.S. 56 in Olathe.

The accident was reported about 4:30 p.m. A southbound sedan on U.S. 56 lost control and crossed over into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a pickup.

The driver of the sedan died at the scene. The victim’s name has not been released.

A juvenile passenger in the same vehicle was injured. The driver of the pickup was also injured. Both were taken to hospitals.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was investigating.
