1 killed after car collides with tractor trailer in northern MN
The State Patrol says a 19-year-old woman is dead following an accident with a tractor trailer Tuesday evening in northern Minnesota.
The accident happened just after 6:30 p.m. when troopers say a vehicle appears to have gone through a posted stop sign near the intersection of Highway 73 and Highway 1 in Linden Grove, Minn. and collided with a tractor trailer carrying spring wheat.
Linden Grove is about 100 miles north of Duluth.
The vehicle had five occupants at the time of the accident. A 19-year-old passenger who died in the crash is identified by the State Patrol as Elizabeth C. Hill from Liberty, MO. Two others, the driver of the car and a passenger, were transported via helicopter to St. Mary's in Duluth where they are listed in serious condition.
A third passenger was transported to the Hibbing Medical Center via ambulance and suffered what police describe as a non-life threatening injury. Another passenger had no apparent injury.
The driver of the tractor trailer suffered no apparent injuries.
