RICHLAND COUNTY, SC : Driver dies in Monticello Road crash on Monday, 19th September 2016

One person died after an afternoon crash Monday on Monticello Road in Columbia.

Highway Patrol reported that the collision happened at about 1:20 p.m. near Bruton Road when the driver of a 2005 Lincoln Town Car went left of center and struck a 2011 International tow truck head on. Troopers said the driver in the tow truck was not injured, but the driver in the car suffered fatal injuries.

The roadway is open after being closed for several hours while troopers investigated the scene.
