Ellsworth ,ME :Pier Clyne, 69 taken to hospital after Crash on Tuesday afternoon ,August 18th 2015
An Alabama woman was taken to the hospital for evaluation after a crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Church and Oak streets.
Pier Clyne, 69, of Dadeville, Ala. was taken by County Ambulance to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for a complaint of neck pain following the crash.
Clyne was the passenger in a Toyota Camry driven by her husband, 63-year-old Bruce Clyne. The couple was headed south on Oak Street just after 3 p.m., when a car came out of Church Street and collided with their car.
That car, a Mazda 6, was driven by 24-year-old Natasha Holyoke of Bucksport.
Police Officer Gil Jameson said it appears that Holyoke was trying to go straight across Oak Street, and that based on what the Clynes said it appears she failed to stop for the stop sign.
Jameson said Holyoke did not recall exactly what happened.
Holyoke had a bit of a rash from her airbag after it deployed. Bruce Clyne did not report any injuries, according to Jameson.
Oak Street was reduced to one lane of traffic for a time as first responders worked to clear the scene.
