Plymouth ,MN : Driver seriously injured in Route 44 crash on Saturday ,July 18th 2015

A 35-year-old Worcester man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Route 44 in Plymouth Saturday. According to a State Police release, Trooper Terry Nugent happened upon the crash around 7:30 p.m., one mile west of Cherry Street.
The driver, who has not been identified, was traveling West on Route 44 in a 2005 Toyota Highlander. The preliminary investigation indicates that the Highlander entered the median at a high rate of speed, crashing into a large sign post, the release said.
Several passersby pulled the driver from the vehicle as it caught on fire and eventually became engulfed in flames.
A MedFlight helicopter was requested. Route 44 East and West were both closed to accommodate the helicopter, police said.
