Warsaw, IN : Three people injured in fiery multi-vehicle crash in Kosciusko County on Friday afternoon, March 11, 2016

A fiery crash in Kosciusko County involving four vehicles left two people in serious condition Friday afternoon. The westbound lanes of U.S. 30 were closed for about three hours.

The crash happened before 4 p.m. along U.S. 30 at the intersection with State Road 13. All lanes were back open around 7 p.m.

A preliminary investigation determined that a semi driven by a 67-year-old from Lincoln, Nebraska had been westbound on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection of State Road 13 when he ran directly into the back of a Dodge Neon that was stopped at a red light. The impact sent the car into the side of another semi and caused both to burst into flames.

A passing motorist pulled the driver of the Neon, Jeremy Noland, 23, of Columbus, Ohio, and his passenger, Crista Noland, 22, from their car. Jeremy Noland was taken to the hospital in serious condition with head and internal injuries. Crista Noland suffered second degree burns to her legs and was listed in serious but stable condition.

Medics took the driver of the second semi, Gregory Reese, 37, of Claypool, Indiana, to the hospital for a possible leg fracture.

A fourth driver, Joshua Watts, 40, of Portland, Indiana, wasn’t hurt, but his Jeep was damaged as a result of the initial impact.
