Woman, 2 kids dead in I-55 crash in Litchfield Illinois

A woman and two children are dead following a car crash on Interstate 55 in downstate Illinois near the Mount Olive exit in Litchfield around 5:30 a.m. Friday.Illinois State Police say a green car with six people inside, including four children, either stopped or slowed down on the interstate. A white cargo van then slammed into the back of the car.
The male driver of the car was taken to the hospital. The woman in the front seat and two of the children were killed.Police say the driver of the cargo van was not injured. Illinois State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
