Iowa Falls ,IA : Ackley man killed in head-on crash with semitrailer on Friday afternoon, july 24th 2015

The Iowa State Patrol says a 54-year-old Ackley man has been killed in a head-on crash with a semitrailer just east of Iowa Falls.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1DEWcpu ) that the crash happened Friday afternoon, killing Heralcio Guerrero Duran.

Investigators say Duran was driving a car westbound on a county road and the semitrailer, driven by a 54-year-old Marshalltown man, was traveling eastbound when the collision happened. Officials are trying to determine what caused the crash.

Two passengers in Duran’s car and the semi driver also were injured and taken to hospitals.

Duran was pronounced dead at the scene.
