Two people are dead after an accident involving a motorcycle on State Road 207 in St. Augustine Monday night, fire rescue says.
A car and a motorcycle were involved in the wreck at the intersection of S.R. 207 and State Road 312 just west of the Cobblestone Village development, St. Johns County Fire Rescue says.
According to the report, the driver of the car, Steven Micahel Canard, 55, was making a left turn onto Hastings Road onto SR 207. That's when the motorcyclist, Oliver James Rollins, 24, struck the left side of the car at a high speed and caused the car to overturn onto its roof. Authorities say Canard was ejected from his vehicle because he was not wearing a seatbelt. Rollins was also thrown from his motorcycle.
Authorities say both Canard and Rollins were found dead on the scene.
