Traverse City,MI : Motorcycle crash kills TC man on Monday, 7th May 2018

A 63-year-old Traverse City man died from injuries he suffered after a motorcycle he drove crashed Monday near Leland.

John Mull drove a motorcycle northbound with a 49-year-old Cedar woman onboard Monday at about 6:07 p.m. on M-22 when he crashed on the left side of the roadway, south of East Duck Lake Road, according to a Leelanau County Sheriff's department Facebook post.

Emergency personnel from the sheriff's department and Leland Township Fire and Rescue located the pair. A passerby stopped, found Mull unresponsive and performed CPR as the first emergency personnel began to arrive. He later was transported to Munson Medical Center by ambulance. Medical care continued, but the he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His female passenger was also sent to Munson Medical Center aboard a Northflight Aero Med helicopter after suffering "serious" but non life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Investigations into the crash continue. Authorities said it is possible that Mull suffered some form of a medical issue just prior to the crash. Further information from a medical examiner is expected soon.
