A woman in her 30s is dead after a three-vehicle crash that shut down a portion of Turkeyfoot Road in Crestview Hills for more than three hours Monday morning.
A Chevrolet Captiva traveling southbound on Turkeyfoot Road near College Park Drive crossed the center line, struck a Chevrolet Cobalt and then slammed head-on into a Hyundai, said Kenton County Police Det. Andrew Schierberg.
Marianne Gerl, of Erlanger, was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified by authorities.
The driver of the Captiva has been identified as Scott Raines, 30, of Independence.
The driver of the Cobalt has been identified as Allison Crossley, 21, of Fairfield.
Authorities closed northbound lanes of Turkeyfoot Road between Dudley Road and College Park Drive around 7 a.m. Monday, county dispatchers said. The lanes remained closed until at least 10:30 a.m. while police tried to reconstruct the crash.
Raines and Crossley were both transported to the hospital with injuries not considered to be life-threatening, Schierberg said.
The crash remains under investigation.
