Portland,OR : Oregon man crashes into patrol cruisers on November, Sunday 26th 2017
An Oregon man was arrested for driving under the influence Sunday after his vehicle struck two stopped Oregon patrol cruisers on Starr Avenue, according to a crash report.
Reginald Jordan, 36, was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence. He was injured, but was not transported to a medical facility, according to the police report.
A passenger in his vehicle, Tracy McKenzie, 36, of Oregon, was also injured and taken to Mercy Health St. Charles Hospital, police said.
No officers were injured.
Two patrol cars were on a traffic stop with their emergency lights activated in the 2400 block of Starr Avenue in Oregon at approximately 5:35 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Jordan was traveling west on Starr Avenue when he sideswiped the left rear fender of one of the vehicles, according to the police report. His vehicle then struck the left rear fender of the second patrol car.
Mr. Jordan over-corrected the vehicle, which caused it to roll over on its top, police said. Mr. Jordan and Ms. McKenzie had to be extricated from the vehicle by police.
A breathalyzer test was administered, and Mr. Jordan’s blood alcohol content was .214, according to the report. This level is higher than the legal limit of .008.
Mr. Jordan is scheduled to be arraigned in Oregon Municipal Court Friday after he was given an own recognizance bond.
