Tulsa,OK : Tryon man killed in Pawnee County crash on June, Friday 30th 2017

A 33-year-old Tryon man died Friday night after the vehicle he was riding in went off a highway and struck a tree in Pawnee County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

A 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Jamie M. Russell, 27, of Tryon was eastbound on U.S. 64 just east of the intersection with Oklahoma 108 near Lela when it crossed the centerline for an unknown reason about 8:15 p.m., troopers reported. The driver overcorrected, causing the car to go into a powerslide and run off the left side of the two-lane highway. The passenger side of the car struck a large tree and came to rest on a fence, according to troopers.

The passenger in the car, Jesse C. Donovan IV, was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries by a medical examiner, troopers reported. Russell was taken by Pawnee EMS to Stillwater Medical Center where she was treated and released for head injuries, the OHP said.
